Robert P. Gauntt

Robert P. Gauntt is a Managing  Partner at Avalon Advisors. Prior to forming Avalon, Robert spent five years in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Division, assisting the company in starting its first Private Wealth office in Texas. From 1991 to 1996,  Robert was with Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management Division in Houston. He also worked at Paine Webber Inc. in both London and New York prior to obtaining his MBA. Robert currently serves as a member on the UTIMCO Board, the University of Texas Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee, the Pro-Vision Charter School, Hope for Africa Advisory Group and is a former member of the Endowment Committee at River Oaks Baptist School. In 2008, Robert was appointed to the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Board of Trustees where he served as Chairman of the Investment Committee and ROB Committee. Robert played Varsity Baseball for the 1983 NCAA Division I National Championship team and was formerly the Director/President of H.O.P.E. Worldwide in Houston. He is a former member of the McCombs School of Business Advisory Council and the Texas Growth Fund Board.
