Henry J. Lartigue, CFA

Henry J. Lartigue is a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Avalon Advisors and Manager of the U.S. Core Equity Portfolio.  His investment experience spans over two decades, including executive level responsibilities and hands-on portfolio management since 1987. Prior to joining Avalon in 2002, Henry was Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., a member of the Executive Management Committee at Chase Manhattan Bank, and Chief Investment Officer of the Chase Private Bank and Chase Global Asset Management, with oversight for $200 billion in assets.  Henry entered the investment management business in 1984 at Texas Commerce Bank (now a part of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co).  As an equity fund manager from 1987 through 2000, Henry managed both small cap and large cap equity growth funds, which were highlighted as top category performers by Lipper Analytical Services and Morningstar. Prior to entering the investment management business in 1984, Henry was a practicing structural design engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.  Henry is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Houston. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Tulane University School of Science and Engineering, as a Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee of the Kinkaid School, and on the Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of the Gulf Coast.
